Here are the benefits of my wine making experiences with fruit. My orchard consists of pears, apples and grapes so I will concentrate on making wine with these. You can use other fruits in a similar way. I have found over the years that over ripe fruit are best.
Asian Pear Wine
Asian Pear Wine | Wines of Subarashii
Subarashii Kudamono Asian Pear wine is uniquely crafted from delicious gourmet Asian Pears grown during our harvest in the lush countryside of Pennsylvania. Lightly sweet, this soft white wine captures the essence of Asian Pears as well as hints of pleasantly familiar nectars. Its subtly fruit forward character makes this particularly enjoyable with spicy foods, pork, bbq, ham, turkey, chicken, fresh fruit, or your favorite cheeses. A lovely wine for summer! If you like a Riesling or a Traminette, you'll enjoy this table wine immensely. Visit our "where to buy" page for details.

This wine recipe is dry, with a light pear flavor, and is a good use for very ripe and lightly damaged pears. The recipes use common kitchen ingredients instead of specialized wine making ingredients, which is great for the novice or incidental brewer. I did tweak the recipe a little to include winemaking yeast.
